In 1993 I was commissioned to research, design and supervise a series of carpets ranging from authentic Moghul to Oriental carpets. The specifications were completed in London and the weavers were sourced and commissioned in Kashmir. It was decided to undertake the work in Kashmir as the original carpets were Moghul and the Kashmiris understood the authenticity and could work in both wool and silk. Over the next six years I designed 12 new carpets which were completed and installed in various parts of the world. 

This part of my practice was a truly inspiring part of my life and I was able to experience India and Kashmir both in peacetime and war.
