Pearl Insurance

I was commissioned to design and weave three tapestries for the main entrance of the new Pearl Insurance Company building which had moved out of London to Peterborough.

The tapestries were based on the theme of ‘Creation Myths’ so were including ‘The Egyptian Myths’, ‘The Mexican Myths’ and ’The European Myths’.

I wanted to use the commission to investigate creation myths which often form the basis of many religions around the world. Many are well known, others are obscure and unusual utilising strong storytelling techniques to explain complex moral and spiritual quandaries.
